Over the years the Marshall house has gained quite the ghostly reputation as a hunted dwelling. It’s been featured on the Travel Channels haunted hotels and ranked the number 5 most haunted hotel by USA today.
Mary Marshall built the Marshall house in 1851 and since then it’s housed the sick and dead through diseases epidemics and during civil war.
During the height of the Civil War the Marshall house was used as a makeshift hospital for the wounded soldiers.
Let me share a few of its ghostly tales.
It’s not uncommon for visitors to spot ghosts of civil war soldiers wandering the halls with missing limbs.
One particular limbless ghost haunts the lobby pleading with guests to get him a surgeon then suddenly he disappears.
On the second floor the ghostly doctors are still at working hacking off limbs.
And it’s not uncommon for guests to be awaken by the cold grip of a ghostly nurse’s fingers on their wrist checking if they still have a pulse.
Children are often heard running and laughing through the halls in the wee hours of the morning.
But their physical forms are never found.
If you are interested in staying at the Marshall House room 414 is said to be the most haunted of all. That’s an insiders tip.
